We use milk paint to paint wooden ornaments to give them a vintage look. We also use it to paint our mini terra cotta pots to give as charming favors. Old fashioned milk paint was created as close as possible to the old primitive, home-made paint made with: milk, crushed limestone or soot, and powdered minerals for colors. The look replicates the super-matte finish of old colonial furniture.
- Milk paint works best on porous surfaces such as wood and unglazed pottery.
- Colors can be tinted with milk paint in the color "snow white" to create pastels.
